“Every political party legally registered pursuant to the Law on Political Parties at the Ministry of Interior is entitled to register its political party and candidate lists standing for the First Election of Bokor Municipal Council, Kampot province 2021, which will be held on Sunday 25th July 2021,” underscored H.E. Mr. Som Sorida, Deputy-Secretary General and Advisor to the NEC, in an interview with NEC-TV online on 29th April 2021.
His Excellency added, “any political party intending to contest in the Councils Election shall start applying for the registration of political parties and candidate lists standing for the election at the Capital/Provincial Election Commission no longer than 80 days before the polling day. Therefore, the registration of political parties and candidate lists standing for the First Election of Bokor Municipal Council shall last 5 days, starting from 6th to 10th May 2021 every working hour.”
Every political party can request for the registration application form of political parties and candidate lists running for the election at NEC or Kampot Provincial Election Secretariat or download from NEC website at www.nec.gov.kh. The registration application forms shall be submitted at Kampot Provincial Election Commission. The registration application forms of political parties and candidate lists running for the election shall be attached with relevant documents as stated in Form 1008.
It is worth informing that there are 13 Bokor municipal councilors while 17 electors are incumbent Sangkat councilors from 3 Sangkat of Bokor Municipality.
