The National Election Committee (NEC) has instructed the Chiefs of Provincial/Capital Election Commission (PEC) to have collaboration on security, safety and public order tasks for the Election of the Members of Senate in 4th Legislature on Sunday 25th February 2018.
The instruction No. 001, signed by H.E. Mr. SIK BUNHOK, NEC Chairman, dated 08 January 2018 indicated, “The Chiefs of Provincial/Capital Election Commission (PEC), in order to ensure good security, safety and public order, peacefulness, neutrality and fairness during the Election of the Members of Senate in 4th Legislature 2018, shall attentively fulfill their work and shall organize the meeting with stakeholders once per week or more than this if necessary.
Compositions of the meeting include as follows:
- Chief of Provincial/Capital Election Commission (PEC) Co-chair
- Governor of Board of Provincial/Capital Governors or 01 representative Co-chair
- 01 representative of political party standing for the election in the province/capital of each region Member
- 01 representative of local/international NGOs in the province/capital of each region Member
- 01 Police Commissioner of the province/capital Member
The instruction also emphasized that the Chiefs of Provincial/Capital Election Commission shall attentively follow this instruction in highly effective manner.
