NEC introduced a total of 30 representatives from political parties, journalists, and election observers to the process of printing ballots used in the 4th Mandate of Commune/Sangkat Council Election 2017

On 29 April 2017, at 09:30 am, the National Election Committee (NEC) introduced a total of 30 representatives from political parties, journalists, and election observers to the process of printing ballots used in the 4th Mandate of Commune/Sangkat Council Election 2017.

The introduction of ballot printing was made at the printing house, N0 09 Street 345, Sangkat Boeng Kak I, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.

H.E Mr. Hang Puthea, NEC’s member and spokesman, stated that for the upcoming of the 4th Mandate of Commune/Sangkat Council Election, NEC had been printing 9,426,600 ballots while there were 7,865,033 voters and 22,148 polling stations. His Excellency explained that the surplus ballots were printed more than numbers of voters because each polling station was required to have 50 to 99 reserve ballots for any voter wishing to change after ticking or any unexpected losses.

The ballot printing shall be finished by 23 May 2017. H.E Mr. Hang Puthea confirmed that packing and transporting ballots to each polling station would be guaranteed by NEC.

It is confirmed that 06 political parties attending to check ballot printing process included: Cambodian People’s Party, Cambodia National Rescue Party, Beehive Social Democratic Party, Cambodian Youth Party, FUNCINPEC Party, and the Cambodia Indigenous Peoples Democracy Party.
